May 27: A San Francisco-bound flight operated by Air India was forced to return to Delhi after experiencing a technical snag mid-air, according to aviation sources.
The aircraft, which had taken off from Delhi on its long-haul international route, reportedly developed a technical issue while flying over the air route, prompting the crew to take a precautionary decision to turn back.
Officials said the decision to return was taken in line with standard safety protocols, prioritising passenger safety and aircraft integrity. The flight landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers were reported to be secure.
Airline authorities are expected to conduct a detailed inspection of the aircraft to determine the cause of the technical issue before it is cleared for further operations.
