PM Modi Marks 12 Years of Garib Kalyan, Reaffirms Commitment to Antyodaya and Inclusive Growth

New Delhi, June 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while marking 12 years of the government’s Garib Kalyan initiatives, reaffirmed that the guiding philosophy of Antyodaya—ensuring upliftment of the last person in society—continues to drive India’s development agenda.

The Prime Minister stated that over the past decade, governance has focused on ensuring that welfare benefits reach the most deprived sections of society in a transparent, efficient, and direct manner. He highlighted that targeted policy interventions and technology-driven delivery systems have helped improve access to essential services such as housing, healthcare, sanitation, food security, and financial inclusion.

He emphasized that the transformation in welfare delivery has reduced inefficiencies and strengthened accountability, enabling millions of citizens to benefit from government schemes without intermediaries or delays.

According to the Prime Minister, the vision of Antyodaya has been central to building an inclusive development model, where growth is not limited to a few but reaches every section of society, particularly those at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid.

He reiterated that the government remains committed to empowering the poor, strengthening social infrastructure, and ensuring that every citizen has equal opportunity to participate in India’s growth story.

The Garib Kalyan initiatives, he noted, represent a long-term commitment to social welfare and inclusive progress, aligned with the broader goal of building a stronger and more equitable nation.
