UAE’s Largest Galvanising Kettle Set to Come to Life at Metal Park

KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, UAE (19-Aug-2026) – 825 tonnes of zinc have arrived at Metal Park’s Production Hub in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, marking the final major material milestone before Galva Hub begins the initial meltdown of the UAE’s largest hot-dip galvanising kettle.

Operated by Galva Hub, the facility will hold 610 tonnes of molten zinc at around 450°C and provide capacity to galvanise up to 150,000 tonnes of steel annually. The 16.2-metre kettle is 2.5/2.0 metres wide and 3.5 metres deep, with double-dipping capability for structures up to approximately 5.5 metres. The process follows ISO 1461 and ASTM A123, with steel cleaned, fluxed, immersed in molten zinc, cooled and inspected before dispatch.

The kettle is designed for large beams, columns, transmission and lighting poles, bridge structures, telecom towers, port infrastructure and other major steelwork.

Until now, some of the UAE’s largest structures had to be cut into sections, dipped in stages or transported outside the Emirate for galvanising. The new facility allows them to be processed locally.

For fabricators within Metal Park, the galvanising facility is just minutes from their workshops, reducing transport, handling and project lead times.

The initial meltdown will bring the zinc to operating temperature over several days. Once molten, the kettle remains in continuous operation. The plant also uses a lead-free zinc process, zinc recycling, fume treatment and heat recovery that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 30%.

Vahid Fouladkar, Chief Executive Officer of Metal Park, said:

“Bringing 825 tonnes of zinc into KEZAD means the UAE’s largest steel structures no longer have to be cut down or shipped away to be protected properly. That capability now sits inside one ecosystem, minutes from the fabricators who need it and close to Khalifa Port.”

Shadi Nemeh, Chief Executive Officer of Galva Hub, said:

“This facility represents more than 20 years of galvanising experience brought together in what will be the largest hot-dip galvanising kettle in the UAE. Its exceptional dimensions and purpose-designed configuration allow us to galvanise larger and more complex steel structures in fewer dips, while our lead-free zinc process and advanced fume containment systems have been designed to protect both our workforce and the surrounding environment. We are bringing a new level of capacity, safety and environmental responsibility to galvanising in the region.”

Commissioning continues through August, with September production slots now open for booking.
