Mumbai / Chennai, April 30: Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ), has announced the opening of its new flagship showroom at Anna Salai, marking a significant milestone in its 125-year legacy and reinforcing its deep-rooted association with Chennai.

Strategically located adjacent to its original store, the new showroom stands out as the only major jewellery retail presence along this prominent commercial corridor. Spanning 14,000 sq. ft., the flagship outlet is designed as a multi-level retail space with a structured zoning approach to enhance customer experience.

The ground floor showcases gold, precious, and jadau jewellery with a layout focused on accessibility and ease of navigation. The first floor is dedicated to diamond, solitaire, and platinum collections, offering a more refined and focused environment for customers seeking high-value purchases.

A key highlight is the second floor, which introduces Atelier VBJ, a new retail format designed as a private and immersive space. Featuring exclusive lounges, private viewing rooms, and personalised service, the concept moves beyond traditional retail by offering curated displays and on-demand access to a broader collection.

Commenting on the launch, Amarendran Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, said the store has been designed to translate the brand’s legacy into a contemporary retail experience. He highlighted the thoughtful spatial transitions across floors, ensuring each level serves a distinct purpose while remaining connected to VBJ’s heritage.

VBJ is also entering a new phase of expansion, with plans to strengthen its presence across Tamil Nadu and Telangana, including upcoming stores in Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, and Hyderabad, along with deeper penetration within Chennai in areas such as T. Nagar and Chromepet. Internationally, the brand is scaling operations in the United States, building on its presence in Texas with planned expansion into Milpitas.
