Asha Gupta Honoured with Craft Revivalist and Textile Conservationist Award by IACC

Asha Gupta Receives IACC’s Top Honour for Textile Conservation & Craft Revival
New Delhi, March 11th, 2025:  Asha Gupta, Founder and Creative Director of Asha Gautam, has been honoured with the Craft Revivalist and Textile Conservationist Award by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) at the Women Empowerment – Celebrating Womanhood: Empower, Educate, Elevate conference held at The Leela, New Delhi.

The award was presented by Ms. Smriti Irani, Former Cabinet Minister & Founder, The Alliance for Global Good: Gender Equity & Equality, Dr. Mallika Nadda, Chairperson, Special Olympics Bharat, Ms. Mridula Pradhan, Chairperson, Vikas Foundation Trust, Dr. Lalit Bhasin, Past National President, IACC, and Ms Rajyalaxmi Rao, Chairperson, IACC Women’s Empowerment Committee, in recognition of Asha Gupta’s remarkable contribution to reviving and conserving Indian crafts and textiles for over 27 years.

Expressing her gratitude, Asha Gupta said, “It’s a huge honor for me and my artisans to receive this award. My heartfelt gratitude to the board members of IACC for acknowledging my work and contribution towards Indian crafts and textiles. For the past 27 years, I have dedicated my life to these crafts, and my love for them has only grown with time. I would also like to thank each and every team member, artisan, and weaver who has supported and worked with me tirelessly — this recognition belongs to them as well.”

With this recognition, Asha Gupta continues her commitment to empowering artisans and preserving India’s textile legacy through her label Asha Gautam.
