Agri and Water Deeptech Startups in India Gain Strong Scale Momentum: Nasscom

New Delhi, June 12: The deeptech ecosystem in India’s agriculture and water sectors is witnessing strong growth momentum, driven by startups developing scalable technology solutions, according to industry body NASSCOM.

The report highlights that emerging startups in agri-tech and water-tech are increasingly leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT, data analytics, and remote sensing to improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability across critical resource sectors.

In agriculture, startups are focusing on precision farming, crop monitoring, supply chain optimisation, and climate-resilient solutions aimed at improving yield and reducing resource wastage. In the water sector, innovations are being deployed for smart water management, leakage detection, irrigation optimisation, and water quality monitoring.

NASSCOM noted that while the ecosystem is expanding rapidly, scaling these innovations remains a key priority, with increased focus on funding access, policy support, and industry partnerships to accelerate adoption at the ground level.

The report also underscores the importance of collaboration between startups, government bodies, and private sector players to build resilient, technology-driven solutions for long-term sustainability in both agriculture and water management.

Industry stakeholders expect continued growth in the sector as India strengthens its position as a global hub for deeptech innovation in critical infrastructure domains.
