Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar Registered as Level-1 ART Clinic, Advanced Fertility Care Now at Government Rates!

Bhubaneswar, Apr 30 (BNP): In a landmark boost to public healthcare, Capital Hospital has been officially registered as a Level-1 Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Clinic, enabling advanced fertility treatment services to be made available at affordable government rates.

The registration has been granted to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of PGIMER and Capital Hospital under the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, and will remain valid until April 27, 2031.

The development is expected to bring major relief to thousands of couples across Odisha who have been struggling with infertility and often relied on expensive private hospitals for treatment. With the new certification, patients will now have access to regulated and affordable fertility care at a trusted government facility in Bhubaneswar.

Assisted Reproductive Technology includes advanced procedures such as IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation), ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) and other reproductive treatments. Until now, these services were largely concentrated in private clinics, making them financially inaccessible for many middle- and lower-income families.

Health officials said the Level-1 ART Clinic will not only provide modern fertility treatment but also ensure transparency, quality control, patient safety, and strict adherence to national medical guidelines.

Senior administrators described the approval as a significant milestone in strengthening Odisha’s public health infrastructure and expanding access to specialised healthcare services. They said the facility would reduce both the emotional and financial burden faced by couples seeking parenthood.

The initiative is being widely welcomed as a patient-centric step that reinforces the government’s commitment to inclusive and affordable healthcare. With this recognition, Capital Hospital is expected to emerge as a key centre for reproductive medicine and women’s healthcare in eastern India.
