IPF Bihar Council Hosts High-Level Meet & Greet with Bihar Industries & Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh in Dubai

Dubai, UAE ,India | Sept 10: The Indian People’s Forum (IPF) Bihar Council hosted an exclusive Meet & Greet with Sushri Shreyasi Singh, Hon’ble Minister for Industries and Sports, Government of Bihar, at India Club, Dubai. The gathering brought together members of the Bihar diaspora, business leaders, professionals, community representatives and senior government officials for an engaging conversation on Bihar’s transformation, investment opportunities, sports development and stronger India–UAE connections.

Organised entirely by IPF UAE volunteers through the IPF Bihar Council, the event was held on the sidelines of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress 2026, where the Government of Bihar participated as a partner and showcased the State’s investment potential to international investors. The IPF gathering provided a complementary platform to connect Bihar’s investment proposition directly with its global diaspora.

Welcoming the gathering, Shri R. K. Mahto, Convenor, IPF Bihar Council, spoke about Bihar’s rich heritage and its journey from its historic contributions to India to the opportunities emerging in the State today. He emphasised the importance of reconnecting Bihar with its global diaspora and converting that connection into meaningful partnerships.

Shri Jitendra Vaidya, President, IPF UAE, delivered the opening address, outlining IPF’s purpose, initiatives and community impact. He also highlighted his long-standing personal association with Sushri Shreyasi Singh, which predates her assuming ministerial office, adding a warm personal dimension to the interaction.

The highlight of the evening was an open and engaging address by Sushri Shreyasi Singh, who shared her personal journey, family background and the values that shaped her sporting and political career. She spoke about her commitment to her father’s vision for sporting excellence, the support of her mother, her achievements in competitive sport, women’s empowerment and the mentors who influenced her public life. She also outlined her vision for Bihar, focusing on industrial development, investment, employment, sports excellence and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Shri Kundan Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, complemented the Minister’s vision with an overview of Bihar’s economic and infrastructure transformation. He highlighted opportunities and progress across power and electricity, manufacturing, agriculture and agri-tech, construction, roads, airports and industrial infrastructure, giving the diaspora a practical perspective on the State’s emerging investment proposition.

The timing of the event was particularly significant, following Bihar’s active participation at AIM Congress 2026, where the State presented its investment potential and highlighted its improving infrastructure, connectivity, human resources and sectoral opportunities. The Government of Bihar also signed an MoU with AIM Global Foundation for a dedicated food-processing park in Bihar, further underscoring the momentum around investment and industrial development.

Naveen Bharadwaj, Convenor, IPF YUVA, served as the Event Host, bringing energy and a highly engaging flow to the evening. He moderated discussions around areas of mutual interest between the Bihar Government and the Indian diaspora and presented ten key points highlighting Bihar’s transformation over recent decades.

Among the distinguished guests were Shri Mukul Kumar Gupta, IAS, Director of Industries, Government of Bihar, and Shri B. G. Krishnan, Consul (Economic, Trade & Commerce), Consulate General of India, Dubai, alongside other senior government representatives, business leaders, professionals and members of the Bihar community in the UAE.

The evening concluded with closing remarks by Shri Rajeev Rajput Ranjan, National General Secretary, IPF UAE, who summarised the key themes of the gathering — Bihar’s heritage and transformation, investment, entrepreneurship, sports, women’s empowerment and the role of the diaspora in India’s growth story. The Event was organized by IPF Bihar Council Executive Members Shri.
