May 13: Maruti Suzuki India has crossed a major logistics milestone by dispatching over 30 lakh vehicles through Indian Railways, reflecting its growing shift toward rail-based transportation for finished vehicles.
The company said increased use of rail transport has improved supply chain efficiency, reduced dependence on road logistics, and helped optimise delivery timelines across the country.
It also noted that rail dispatches contribute to lower logistics costs and support sustainability efforts by reducing carbon emissions compared to road movement.
The development underscores the expanding role of railway infrastructure in supporting large-scale automobile distribution and strengthening efficient, eco-friendly logistics networks in India.
