Rourkela, May 13: The National Institute of Technology Rourkela (National Institute of Technology Rourkela) has announced the launch of four new academic programmes from the 2026–27 session, aimed at strengthening education in emerging technologies and aligning with the NEP 2020 vision.
The new programmes include BTech in Mathematics & Computing, BTech in Engineering Physics, MTech in Semiconductor Devices and Technology, and MTech in Machine Learning and Signal Analysis.
The institute said the courses are designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, semiconductors, quantum technologies, and advanced engineering systems.
Admissions will be conducted through JEE Main (BTech) and GATE (MTech), with limited intake across all programmes.
Officials said the initiative will strengthen interdisciplinary learning and support India’s growing focus on deep-tech innovation, semiconductor development, and AI-driven industries.
