Delhi Govt Makes 2 Day WFH Mandatory Under Fuel Saving Push

New Delhi, May 14: The Delhi government has made it mandatory for its employees to work from home for two days a week in government offices, as part of efforts aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to promote fuel conservation.

The decision aims to reduce vehicular congestion, lower fuel consumption, and curb emissions in the national capital by encouraging a shift toward hybrid work arrangements in government departments.

Officials said the measure is intended to ease traffic pressure in Delhi while also contributing to environmental protection and energy efficiency goals.

The policy is expected to be implemented across government offices with immediate effect, with departments asked to ensure smooth functioning of services under the new work arrangement.

Authorities believe the initiative will support broader efforts to reduce pollution levels and promote sustainable urban practices in the city.
