Whitecaps International School of Pastry, Bangalore

Bengaluru: Chef Akshay Gowda, from the famed Whitecaps International School of Pastry, Bangalore, sculpted and dedicated a bust cake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Cakeology, Mumbai, over the weekend. The bust cake was 3 feet tall, weighing in over 25 kilos, and took over 4 days to sculpt.

Spread over 3 days, Cakeology is the first show of its kind – bringing every day cake artists, sugar artists, bakers, pastry chefs and foodies to celebrate the art of baking and cake decorating. Cakeology, now in its 4th year, continues to be the only show dedicated to the Indian, home and retail baking category.

Co-founder and Executive Pastry Chef at Whitecaps, Chef Arvind Prasad, led the Whitecaps team at Cakeology consisting of Chef Samie, Chef Anushree Aiyer, and Chef Rohit, along with Chef Akshay Gowda. The other highlight of the show was the Eiffel tower created by Chef Samie, a completely edible sugar showpiece towering at a height of 12 feet.
