New Delhi, June 1: Maruti Suzuki India has reported its highest-ever monthly sales, with total sales reaching nearly 2.43 lakh units in May, marking a record performance driven by strong demand across passenger vehicle segments.
The company said the robust sales reflect sustained customer demand in both urban and rural markets, supported by a diverse product portfolio and strong network reach across the country.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales accounted for the bulk of the performance, while exports also contributed to the overall growth. The company noted that demand remained healthy across entry-level, compact, and utility vehicle segments.
Industry observers said the record monthly performance highlights continued momentum in India’s automobile sector, supported by improving consumer sentiment, stable financing conditions, and festive and seasonal demand patterns in key regions.
Maruti Suzuki further indicated that strong order inflows and steady production helped the company meet rising market demand efficiently during the month.
The company’s performance is also seen as reflective of broader recovery trends in the passenger vehicle industry, which continues to benefit from premiumisation, new model launches, and expanding rural demand.
