January 27, 2025: As India celebrates its 76th Republic Day, National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K), proudly reflects on its remarkable progress and looks to the future with renewed enthusiasm.

Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-K, extended heartfelt congratulations and expressed gratitude to the institute’s Deans, Heads, Faculty, Administration, Staff, including the contractual and outsource Staff and Students for their unwavering dedication, which has been instrumental in the institute’s continued success. NIFTEM-K remains steadfast in its pursuit of becoming a globally recognized leader in food science and technology, entrepreneurship, and management.

Dr. Oberoi highlighted several exciting initiatives, emphasizing that 2024 has been a year of significant achievements for NIFTEM-K. The institute recorded an unprecedented intake of 184 B.Tech. students from 22 states. Events such as Foundation Day, Alumni Meet, Edesia, successful Village Adoption Program, and specialized training programs marked the year, alongside significant milestones at World Food India, where NIFTEM-K signed 22 MoUs, including partnerships with 12 major companies. These accomplishments have solidified NIFTEM-K’s reputation as a leading institution, earning widespread recognition across its stakeholders, media and social media platforms.

Dr. Oberoi underscored the importance of advancing these MoUs, noting that prominent companies are now partnering with NIFTEM-K. The institute’s technologies and research, particularly the Rapid Pesticide Detection System for tea have been well received, garnering praise from the Hon’ble Union Minister of Food Professing Industry and Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce and Industry. Dr. Oberoi emphasized the need to further align NIFTEM-K’s courses with industry requirements and collaborate with globally renowned academic institutions for groundbreaking advancements. He also announced plans to establish a strong Alumni Association and prioritize filling vacant positions. He also thanked the Ministry for all its support and especially for pursuing the matters related to revival of the posts with the Ministry of Finance.

Promoting entrepreneurship and fostering a start-up culture remains core focuses for NIFTEM-K. Dr. Oberoi highlighted the institute’s goals of applying for NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation soon and improving its NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranking. Significant progress has been made in research, with numerous research papers published, patents secured, and innovative technologies getting successfully developed. These technologies now to need to be transferred to our stakeholders so that they reach the masses. These milestones underline NIFTEM-K’s commitment to excellence in academics, research and outreach in food technology, entrepreneurship, and management.

Traditional dances, musical performances, and a patriotic play on the Constitution of India brought the NIFTEM-K family together to celebrate 76 th Republic Day. On this occasion, several students were honored with the Director’s Choice Award, and hardworking and committed NIFTEM outsourced employees were recognized with commendation certificates.

With a clear vision for the future, NIFTEM-K continues to champion excellence, sustainability, and inclusivity in food sector.
