Odisha Reviews NEET (UG) 2026 Re-Exam Arrangements

Bhubaneswar, June 8: Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg held a virtual review meeting on June 5 with all District Collectors to assess preparedness for the smooth and secure conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed district administrations to ensure transparent, safe, and efficient arrangements for the examination. She stressed the importance of maintaining strict security protocols and seamless coordination among departments to ensure a hassle-free examination process for candidates.

Key focus areas of the review included security arrangements at examination centres, secure transportation and handling of question papers and examination materials, readiness of infrastructure at centres, and coordination among administrative, police, and education departments.

According to official details, the examination will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM across 132 centres in 27 cities in Odisha. A total of 56,983 candidates are expected to appear in the re-examination.

Authorities have been instructed to deploy magistrates, adequate police personnel, and support staff at all examination centres to ensure strict monitoring and smooth conduct of the examination process.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Hemant Sharma, Higher Education Commissioner-cum-Secretary Arvind Agarwal, along with other senior officials from concerned departments, who reviewed preparedness measures and coordination mechanisms.

The state government reiterated its commitment to ensuring fair, secure, and well-organised conduct of national-level examinations across Odisha.
