May 29: The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has conducted a detailed walkthrough of the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) 2025 portal, aimed at strengthening digital public service delivery across India.
The demonstration session was chaired by Sarita Chauhan, Additional Secretary, DARPG, and focused on explaining the portal’s key features, assessment framework, data submission process, reporting system, and overall timelines for the upcoming evaluation cycle.
NeSDA is a biennial framework designed to evaluate the effectiveness and accessibility of online government services from a citizen-centric perspective. It draws on principles similar to the UN’s Online Service Index while being adapted to India’s federal structure.
The assessment covers both G2C (government-to-citizen) and G2B (government-to-business) services across major sectors, including finance, education, labour, social welfare, agriculture, transport, tourism, and public grievance redressal. The 2025 edition also proposes inclusion of additional services from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to broaden its scope.
Under NeSDA 2025, a total of 59 mandatory services across states and Union Territories, and 43 services across central ministries, will be evaluated to measure efficiency, reach, and quality of digital service delivery.
Officials emphasized that the portal will serve as a key tool for benchmarking performance, identifying service gaps, and promoting best practices among states and ministries. The initiative is also expected to improve coordination between Centre, states, and Union Territories through regular consultations and review meetings.
DARPG has urged all nodal officers to ensure timely data submission and active participation in the assessment process to enable a smooth and effective evaluation cycle.
