Rayat Bahra University signs MoU for AI-Enabled Media School with The Tribune Trust

Mohali, Punjab, July 29: Punjab’s 2nd-ranked universityRayat Bahra University (RBU)‘s School of Mass Communication & Journalism and The Tribune Trust have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up an AIEnabled Media School. This collaboration aims to

strengthen academia-industry collaboration and provide students with practical exposure in various fields associated with Communications.

According to the MoU, the two institutions will work together to promote collaboration in Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Media, Public Relations and allied disciplines. Through an industry-first, AIenabled curriculum, students will benefit from newsroom exposure, experiential learning, internships, industrial training and interactions with leading media professionals.

Mr Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor, RBU said “This collaboration helps RBU students bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations. It also fulfils the University‘s commitment to delivering industry-oriented education and preparing future media professionals with the skills, ethics and technological expertise required in today’s dynamic communication environment,”

The agreement funds joint academic events, featuring expert talks, workshops, and faculty training focused on modern media skills like AI reporting, fact-checking, and digital storytelling.

RBU offers courses that help students prepare for jobs in Journalism, Content Writing, Digital and Social Media Specialist, Public Relations, Broadcast and Media Research Analyst, and The Tribune Trust operates the largest daily Newspaper in North India.
