May 25: India’s data centre sector is projected to witness strong long-term growth, with industry revenue expected to reach approximately $45.69 billion by 2033, driven by rising digital adoption and increasing demand for cloud infrastructure.

The expansion is being fuelled by rapid growth in data consumption, accelerated digital transformation across industries, and the expansion of services such as e-commerce, fintech, streaming, and enterprise cloud solutions.

Improving internet penetration, government support for digital infrastructure, and increasing investments from global and domestic players are also contributing to the sector’s growth trajectory.

Experts believe India’s position as a key data hub in Asia will strengthen further, supported by scalable infrastructure development, increased localisation of data storage, and rising enterprise reliance on secure and high-capacity data centres.
