Avio Smart Market Stack Limited Partners with Aquasafra Holdings Inc. to Boost Aquaculture Growth

Mar 25: Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly known as Bartronics India Limited, has announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aquasafra Holdings Inc. (AHI) and Waterfield Farms Inc. (WFI), USA, to explore the development of technology-driven aquaculture and fisheries ecosystems.

Aquasafra, headquartered in the United States, brings specialized expertise in high-performance tilapia genetics, including hybrid seed stock designed for faster growth cycles, higher survival rates, and adaptability across diverse farming conditions. Its integrated model spans broodstock development, feed optimization, farm design, production systems, and technical advisory services.

This collaboration combines ASMS’s extensive rural distribution network spanning over 5,000 villages and connecting millions of rural participants—with Aquasafra’s advanced aquaculture capabilities and Waterfield Farms’ operational expertise. The partnership aims to build scalable, commercially viable aquaculture models that integrate advanced genetics, sustainable farming practices, and efficient supply chain linkages.

As part of the initiative, the partners will explore the establishment of regionally adapted hatcheries for high-performance tilapia seed production, deployment of modern aquaculture systems, and integration of aquaponics-based models to promote climate-resilient agriculture. Additional focus areas include feed optimization, lake and reservoir stocking programs, and capacity-building initiatives for farmers, cooperatives, and agri-entrepreneurs.

The collaboration aligns with ASMS’s broader strategy under its Project AVIO Agritech, which focuses on expanding into high-value sectors such as fisheries, water resource management, and climate-linked rural enterprises.

Commenting on the partnership, Raja Krishnamurthy M, Head – Agri Tech Business, ASMS, said,

“Aquaculture presents a significant opportunity to enhance rural incomes and diversify agricultural value chains. This collaboration allows us to combine strong on-ground access with global aquaculture expertise to build scalable and sustainable models across regions.”

The companies will also explore joint research and innovation initiatives focused on disease resistance, climate-resilient production systems, and efficient water management, aiming to create long-term value for both commercial and community-driven fisheries programs.

With this strategic partnership, ASMS is poised to strengthen its position in the agritech ecosystem while contributing to sustainable rural development and enhanced livelihoods.
