Bengaluru, May 6: Tata Consultancy Services, a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, announced the winners of the 17th edition of TCS TechBytes, an annual information technology (IT) quiz jointly conducted with the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous body promoted by the Government of Karnataka. The quiz aims to test and deepen engineering students’ knowledge of IT and emerging digital trends.
RV College of Engineering from Bengaluru, emerged as the winner at the finals held on May 5, 2026. AGMR College of Engineering & Technology from Hubballi, secured the runner-up position.
TCS awarded education scholarships worth Rs 85,000 to the winner and Rs 50,000 to the runner-up, while the finalists received scholarships worth Rs 10,000 each. The awards were presented by Prof. S. Sadagopan, Chairman, BITES, the chief guest for the event, along with Prof. Gopalkrishna Hegde, IISc Bengaluru and Sunil Deshpande, Regional Head, TCS Bengaluru. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Selvan D., Co‑Chairman, BITES; Dr. N. Nagamani Nagaraja, Chief of Strategy & Systems, National Education Foundation and H.P. Balakrishna, Principal, Global Academy of Technology
More than 8,000 students from over 115 engineering colleges across Karnataka participated in the programme. The finals were conducted across six regions: Hubballi, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Tumakuru, and Kalaburagi.
