New Delhi, June 16: India’s annual exports have witnessed a significant rise over the past 12 years, increasing from approximately USD 468 billion to USD 863 billion, reflecting strong expansion in both goods and services trade.
According to official data, the sharp growth highlights India’s strengthening integration with global markets and the sustained competitiveness of its export sectors. The increase has been driven by improvements in manufacturing capacity, rapid expansion of services exports, and ongoing diversification of global trade partnerships.
Officials noted that the rise in exports underscores the impact of policy reforms, infrastructure development, and digital transformation initiatives that have enhanced India’s trade ecosystem. Strengthened logistics networks and improved ease of doing business have also contributed to export growth during this period.
The services sector, particularly IT and business services, has played a major role in driving overall export performance, while merchandise exports have benefited from diversification into new markets and product categories.
Experts stated that the nearly two-fold increase reflects India’s evolving position in global trade, with a stronger emphasis on value-added exports and technology-driven industries.
The government reiterated its commitment to further expanding export competitiveness through continued policy support, infrastructure upgrades, and trade facilitation measures.
