Madhya Pradesh Secures Rs 53,000 Crore Investment Proposals from UAE

Bhopal, Sep 9: Madhya Pradesh has attracted investment proposals worth more than Rs 53,000 crore from UAE-based businesses during Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s three-day visit, with green energy, artificial intelligence, data centres, manufacturing, healthcare, education and logistics emerging as key areas of interest.

The proposals underline the growing interest of international investors in Madhya Pradesh as the state seeks to expand its industrial base and bring more private investment into emerging sectors. The government used the Dubai visit to showcase the state’s infrastructure, available land, connectivity and investment policies to companies looking for new business opportunities in India.

One of the largest proposals came from Rana Holdings, which is looking at investments of around Rs 35,200 crore in Madhya Pradesh. The proposed plans include a 2,000 MW solar energy portfolio, a 200 MW green hydrogen plant, an AI and computing data centre, a critical minerals recovery and recycling facility and an integrated smart manufacturing hub.

Another company has proposed an investment of nearly Rs 18,000 crore for a 50 MW AI factory, with the capacity potentially increasing to more than 100 MW. The proposal highlights the growing demand for large-scale computing infrastructure as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly important across businesses and industries.

If these projects move ahead, they could give Madhya Pradesh a stronger position in some of the fastest-growing areas of the economy. Solar power and green hydrogen could add to the state’s clean-energy capacity, while data centres and AI infrastructure could bring new technology investments and demand for skilled professionals.

The investment interest is not limited to technology and energy. Discussions during the UAE visit also covered healthcare and education, including multi-speciality hospitals, digital health services, telemedicine, medical education, international-standard schools and teacher training.

Logistics, food processing and agricultural supply chains were also part of the discussions. Potential investments in multi-modal logistics parks, warehousing, cold-chain facilities, food processing and distribution could help businesses move agricultural and manufactured products more efficiently from Madhya Pradesh to markets across India and overseas.

For the state, these sectors offer an opportunity to build stronger links between its traditional economic strengths and newer industries. Madhya Pradesh has a large agricultural base, growing manufacturing activity and improving road, rail and air connectivity, which can support investments across different parts of the economy.

The state government is also promoting its land availability, eight operational airports, road and rail network and single-window approval system as advantages for investors. These factors are particularly important for large projects that require significant land, reliable connectivity and faster clearances.

The bigger challenge, however, will be turning the proposals into actual investments. Investment announcements are an important first step, but the real economic impact will come when projects begin construction, create jobs, develop local supply chains and start commercial operations.

Madhya Pradesh has said that it has received investment proposals worth more than Rs 34 lakh crore over the past two and a half years, with more than 30 per cent of the projects already implemented. The latest UAE proposals add to the state’s efforts to attract capital into new industries and strengthen its position as an investment destination.

The state has also invited UAE investors to participate in the Global Investors Summit 2027, scheduled to be held in Bhopal in January. The summit is expected to provide another platform for companies to explore projects and partnerships in the state.

The UAE visit has therefore opened opportunities across several parts of Madhya Pradesh’s economy, from renewable energy and AI to healthcare, education, logistics and food processing. The focus now will be on converting investor interest into projects on the ground and ensuring that the proposed investments translate into jobs, stronger infrastructure and sustained economic activity.

For Madhya Pradesh, the latest investment proposals point to a changing business landscape in which traditional sectors are increasingly being combined with technology, clean energy and modern infrastructure. If successfully implemented, these projects could help the state attract more global businesses and strengthen its role in India’s next phase of economic growth.
