PM Modi to Inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 on September 17 at Yashobhoomi

New Delhi, August 18, 2026: The fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026, one of India’s largest semiconductor industry events, will be held from September 17 to 19 at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre), Dwarka, New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on September 17. Organised jointly by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and SEMI, the event will be held under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.”

SEMICON India 2026 comes as India’s semiconductor ecosystem gains momentum under the Semicon India Programme. Twelve projects have been approved under Semicon 1.0, with three already having commenced commercial production.

The Union Cabinet has also approved the next phase, Semicon 2.0, aimed at further strengthening a robust and resilient semiconductor ecosystem. The government is also supporting semiconductor research, innovation and design by providing advanced design tools to more than 332 academic institutions and 105 startups, while 24 startups have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive scheme.

The three-day event will bring together government leaders, semiconductor companies, investors, researchers, academia, startups and students from India and abroad. The exhibition is expected to feature 500+ exhibitors, 240+ international companies, 150+ international speakers and delegations from more than 40 countries across over 15,000 square metres.

The programme will include international country roundtables, leadership forums, panel discussions, startup showcases, a startup pitch competition, student hackathon and workforce development initiatives, with discussions covering manufacturing, AI, supply chains, materials, sustainability, chip design, policy and skilling.

The event is expected to provide a major platform for collaboration and investment across India’s semiconductor and electronics ecosystem. Industry leaders from companies including ASML, Applied Materials, Infineon, IBM Research, NXP, Tata Electronics, Micron, Lam Research, CG Power, Advantest and Tokyo Electron are among those participating. Officials and industry representatives said SEMICON India 2026 reflects India’s growing ambition to move beyond participation in the global semiconductor supply chain and build capabilities across the entire value chain—from semiconductor manufacturing and design to systems and applications.
